Child Fund gave over 1,000 bikes to Gambia's education ministry on Thursday. The charity wants kids who walk far distances to reach school more easily. They held the ceremony at their Kanifing office with government officials attending.
The bikes come from a bigger project called Zero Out of School Children. Education Above All Foundation pays for it through UNICEF. Several groups work together to help every child attend primary school across the country.
Musu Kuta Comma runs Child Fund and said they plan to give 3,000 bikes total. The group already handed over 500 bikes in December 2023. They gave another 1,000 bikes last August and delivered 1,040 more this week.
