Chegotsi Industry

Zim Slang Chegotsi Industry

The phrase "chegotsi industry" in Zim slang refers to the process of leveraging the oldest profession whether in the form of physical sexual favors or financial domination in return for being awarded with opportunities that could have never been facilitated without the act taking place.

For example, some Zimdansaal and Zim Hip Hop artists have often remarked how certain music producers and promoters in Zimbabwe are reluctant to work with new artists unless they have sampled them for a few rounds or so.

However, not all people who engage in the chegotsi industry are being exploited as many people will quickly assume.

There are now numerous Zim slay queens, socialites, and felebrities who pretend to be hardworking individuals yet behind the scenes ih dey benevolent big belly blessadem financing all that lifestyle.

Note: Chegotsi Industry shud neba bi confused with "kufemerana mugotsi" wey basically means two ngochani oans are dating.
