The police need your help to catch 20 people who robbed Omega Farm in Marondera. These robbers struck at 1 AM on March 18 and took cash plus other valuable items. Any tips could lead to finding these armed criminals who remain on the loose. Commissioner Paul Nyathi from the Zimbabwe Republic Police told everyone Tuesday they started looking into this case. The thieves made off with $74,100 in US dollars, one pistol, three Samsung phones including the S24, S23, and Galaxy A35 models. They also grabbed additional valuable belongings from the property. These criminals came prepared with rifles, pistols, bolt cutters, machetes, and heavy iron bars. They attacked the security guards who protected the farm first. The gang used extreme force to overcome anyone standing in their way. According to Nyathi, these attackers hurt family members during the break-in. They cut right through burglar screens and broke doors open to enter the house. No barrier stopped them from accessing what they wanted inside the home. You can help by calling the National Complaints Desk at 0242-703631 if you know anything about this crime. The police accept WhatsApp messages at 0712800197. You might also visit your closest police station to share what you know about these dangerous suspects. Nyathi never named who suffered in this attack, but news outlets reported the victims. The farm belongs to Christopher Mudzingwa Muteke, whose daughter married businessman Wicknell Chivayo. This connection explains why such valuable items existed at the location. People believe the stolen cash came from a recent wedding payment. Chivayo had given this money as bride price when he married Lucy Muteke, nicknamed Lulu, just ten days earlier on March 8. The traditional ceremony happened right before this robbery occurred. When asked about the wedding payment amount, Chivayo rejected rumors about paying $300,000 for the lobola. He admitted sending exactly $75,000 to the Muteke family for his marriage ceremony. This matches almost perfectly with the amount stolen during the farm robbery.
