Twenty-eight Bangladeshis made it back home after getting stuck in Iran during the fighting with Israel. The group touched down at Dhaka airport around half past seven Tuesday morning on a flight from Dubai. Most of the travelers were women and kids who had gone to Iran for medical help. The long trip home started back on June 25 when they left Tehran by car. The group drove across the border into Pakistan through a place called Taftan in Balochistan province. They made their way to Karachi and caught a flight to Dubai on Monday night. From Dubai they finally boarded the plane that brought them back to Bangladesh.

Government officials say things are getting better in Tehran these days. Once regular flights start running again, more stranded Bangladeshis should be able to come home safely. The Bangladesh Embassy in Tehran has about 250 people registered who are still waiting to return. The Foreign Ministry confirmed all the details about the successful rescue mission that brought the 28 people back to their families.
