[QUOTE="Bombastus, post: 93783, member: 2178"] Bulawayo scheduled a 10-hour water shutdown that could affect 28 suburbs. City officials need to fix damaged pipes at Ncema Water Treatment Works, with Town Clerk Christopher Dube sharing the plan through a public notice. The repairs aim to cut water loss, raise pressure, and make the network more reliable. For residents, the main concern is the Tuli Reservoir supply zone. Holiday Inn, Ascot, Khumalo, Suburbs, Parklands, Queens Park, Mahatshula, and Woodville are among the named locations where taps may run dry. Kingsdale, Hopeville, Killarney, Fairbridge, Lochview, Sunninghill, and Riverside are also part of the planned cut. Homes in Marlands, Glencoe, Waterford, Manningdale, Willsgrove, and Buena Vista could face the same issue. Other places named in the notice are Douglasdale, Fortunes Gate, Selborne Park, Matsheumhlophe, Mqabuko Heights, and Imbizo Barracks. Nearby areas may lose service as well, even if they are not named in the notice. And the work may affect more than just tap water. The council warned that normal water rationing plans would change for homes in the affected zone. Residents were urged to store enough water for basic needs and avoid waste while the repairs take place. One small detail matters here. Households should leave their taps shut during the outage. Water could return ahead of schedule, and any open faucets might waste it before people notice. Getting the pipes fixed will not mean an instant return to normal service. Crews must restart the pumps and refill the lines that feed Tuli Reservoir. That process may take a while, even after the main work is complete. People living on higher ground may face weak flow as the system builds up pressure again. The council has advised households to plan for the disruption and make careful use of their stored water.
