The Zimbabwe trade show next month will host twenty-four businesses from seventeen nations. This marks a big jump from last year, when just thirteen countries joined the event. Foreign companies see Zimbabwe as a great place to invest, thanks to President Mnangagwa's international policies. His team has pushed economic partnerships since taking office in 2017. The trade fair runs April 21-26 at the Zimbabwe International Conference and Exhibition Smart City in Bulawayo. The show focuses on "Industrialisation: Crafting an Integrated Economic Landscape." Almost all booth space has filled up – 95 percent already taken by 435 businesses. This year celebrates 65 years of the trade show's history. Mr. Busisa Moyo, who leads the event board, said they aim to make Zimbabwe stand out as a business hub. He mentioned how the fair helps create factory growth and business connections across Africa. The organizers expect more visitors than ever as they reach this Blue Sapphire anniversary mark. The event highlights how the trade show shaped Zimbabwe's business world for decades. The fair organizers visited neighboring countries to drum up interest. They held meetings in Botswana, South Africa, and Zambia, with 50-80 people attending each stop. These meetings included embassy staff, trade groups, news reporters, and Zimbabwe business owners living abroad. Many expressed excitement about joining the upcoming fair. Companies will come from far-away places like Afghanistan, Canada, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, and Pakistan. Several countries plan to send official groups, including Belarus, China, the European Union, Japan, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, the United Kingdom, and the United States. India will send business leaders looking for investment opportunities. The organizers predict huge numbers for this year—more than 800 exhibitors, at least 30 countries, about 10,000 business representatives, and over 75,000 visitors. This makes the Zimbabwe International Trade Fair one of the biggest business events in Africa, helping connect buyers and sellers from around the world.
