[QUOTE="Nehanda, post: 22797, member: 2262"] Action Aid International The Gambia (AAITG) has helped 81 families in Upper Nuimi. Fires, floods, and windstorms hurt the families. The alkalo and the families who got help were there. Governor Saidykhan said AAITG has done a lot for the region. He said they work to make things better for people. He said the money will help the families fix their homes. He also said AAITG and the Regional Disaster Management Coordination Office work well together. They figure out what the families need. The Governor wants people to do things to avoid disasters in the future. He is worried about too much logging and bushfires. He wants people to take care of the forests. He also said the government is trying to help young people find jobs. They can get money to start projects in farming. Saikou Darboe works for Action Aid. He said they will always help people after disasters. He thanked the Governor and the Alkalo for their help. He said AAITG gave D150,000 to rice farmers whose fields burned. Darboe wants village leaders to find the families who need the most help. He says this will give them hope. He also wants people to work together, no matter their politics. Aja Tako Taal is the Alkalo of Juffureh. She thanked AAITG for helping with education and improving women's lives. Saikou F.
