Accra Demolishes Reclamation Site to Beat Floods

The President ordered a land reclamation company to undo work they did near flood-prone areas during his visit to Accra. He wanted them to fix everything at their expense before the rainy season brought flooding. The Greater Accra Regional Security Council checked the site Thursday but found the company ignored the order completely. They discovered nothing had changed despite clear instructions from the highest office.

Regional Minister Linda Ocloo warned the defiant company that they would face legal consequences if they continued refusing to comply. She stressed that their stubbornness might cause serious flooding problems throughout the region. Officials decided they couldn't wait any longer for voluntary action from the business. Authorities started demolition work to restore the area to its original state. This emergency action aims to allow proper dredging operations that can prevent widespread flooding.
