HARARE, Zimbabwe — The people of Zimbabwe can look forward to a better year in 2025, says Acting President Kembo Mohadi. He spoke to reporters at his office in Harare on Sunday.

Mr. Mohadi said the government will work harder to meet people's needs. "It cannot be business as usual," he said. "You will see marked changes in the way we conduct business."

The country is getting good rains right now. This makes Mr. Mohadi happy. The rains are good for crops and animals. More rain means the country will save money. It won't have to buy as much food from other countries.

Last year, many people lost their crops because of dry weather. The government had to help them. But this year should be different. The extra money can go to other things that help the country grow.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa is on leave right now, but the government is still working hard. It wants to make Zimbabwe a middle-income country by 2030, which is part of President Mnangagwa's Vision 2030 plan.

The government has been working on this plan since 2018. It has built dams and roads and made housing more affordable. Mr. Mohadi says these projects will continue in 2025.

He thinks the year will be exciting for Zimbabwe. "The Gods have smiled on us," he said. With good weather and hard work, things are looking up.
