Moscow welcomed its first permanent gallery for contemporary African art on June 6. The new space aims to bring African artwork to Russian viewers. The gallery will host the Zambezi Art Residency from November 2 through November 12. Artists from around the world will gather under the theme Initiation. They will create new works based on African settings and cultural ceremonies before showing their pieces together at the end of the program. The residency offers artists a chance to explore different cultural practices. Participants will develop their art through collaboration and cultural exchange.
