Young people from Ahoada East attacked their local government leader with sticks. A video shows Goodluck Iheamnacho getting beaten up at his office. The angry group also hurt Council Secretary Alabi Umegbewe during the same fight. They made Iheamnacho sign a paper saying he quit his job. The administrator later said someone forced him to write the fake resignation letter. The trouble started when young residents asked hard questions about missing money. They said Iheamnacho met with Governor Fubara supporters from the Simplified Movement group. Security officer Hector Ekaikita saw everything happen at the government building on Friday. The youths accused their leader of stealing funds meant for their community. They claimed he bought expensive cars and houses with taxpayer money. Angry residents said Iheamnacho spent over 300 million naira on properties for himself. They also mentioned a fancy car worth 63 million naira that he bought recently. The administrator tried to kick the protesters out of his office. When he pushed them away they pushed back and started fighting. Ekaikita had to step between both sides to stop the violence. Iheamnacho told the group he could meet with anyone he wanted to. The youths demanded he quit right away if he would not listen to their concerns. They brought paper and made him write his resignation during the confrontation. Local people say their administrator refuses to share government money with community supporters. Rivers State has 23 local governments where similar fights about funding happen often.
