Presidents Sisi from Egypt and Macron from France talked on the phone Saturday about Gaza. They both want the fighting to stop immediately. The two leaders agreed that people in Gaza needed food, water, and medicine quickly. They believe peace can only happen when Palestinians and Israelis have their own countries. Sisi told Macron what Egypt has tried to do to stop the fighting. Macron plans to visit Egypt tomorrow and stay for three days. During this trip, they might hold a big meeting with Jordan. The presidents talked about how their countries can work together better. They hope that adding Jordan to their talks might help create more support for peace plans. Egypt sits next to Gaza and has worked hard to help wounded people and bring in supplies. Israel started bombing Gaza again on March 18 after stopping for two months. The Israeli army just said they began a new part of their attack on Gaza this past Thursday. The fighting has become much worse since the short break ended. Gaza doctors say at least 1,309 people have died since Israel started bombing again. The attacks hurt another 3,184 people badly enough to need medical help. The war kept spreading across more parts of Gaza. Many homes, schools, and hospitals lie broken and unusable. Children cannot go to school or play outside safely. Doctors struggle to help hurt people without enough medicine or clean places to work. Food runs out fast when trucks cannot bring more into Gaza. The fighting makes it hard for anyone to feel safe or plan for tomorrow. Egypt wants peace because Gaza sits right next door. France has had links to many countries in the area from long ago. Both presidents worry that more fighting only creates more hate between people. They hope their countries, plus Jordan, can push harder for peace than just one country alone. The phone call shows these leaders keep trying to stop the bloodshed even when others seem ready to keep fighting.
