Alesis Strata Club Gives Big Sound in Small Spaces

Alesis released its new Strata Club electronic drum kit for drummers who need professional quality with less space. This compact kit works well for intermediate players through professionals. The setup helps studio producers integrate it easily with other equipment. Because of its smaller design, it fits nicely in small practice rooms or bedrooms.

The heart of the system shows off a 7-inch touchscreen with powerful processing. Users access a huge 25 GB library containing over 370 different drum pieces. The system holds more than 800 unique sound variations from 144,000 individual samples. Drummers play on a 12-inch mesh snare with two 10-inch mesh toms. The kick tower measures just 9 inches across.

The kit features special ARC cymbals that respond all around their edges. Both the crash cymbal and the ride cymbal measure 12 inches across. The hi-hat uses magnetic technology for realistic control. Musicians can connect to computers through USB/MIDI ports. Buyers receive three months of free Drumeo lessons. The complete package costs $1,599 from Sweetwater or about 1,470 euros from Thomann.
