That's due to the same old same Zimbabwean 'Married Persons Property Act', right?

Kazhinji muZimbabwe prenup inzira yekuti vanhu vabatanidze pfuma yavo pamwe chete kana vada zvemba -- an agreed-upon way of merging assets and how to re-distribute those assets if things fall apart.

Chikurusa prenup yacho inofana kuitwa nenzira iripamutemo weZimbabwe not zviya zvemuma bhaisikopo evanhu vanonyorerana antenuptial agreement patissue kana pahandkerchief.

For the nth time -- LOL 😭

In other words, if an average oan (a hundredaire or thousandaire) doesn't want to split his assets with a daige there is generally no need to sign a prenup in Zimbabwe.

It's mainly a matter of avoiding joint ownership, sharing debts, bank accounts, etc as I have already stated so that the court will effectively separate property with the quickness.

For example, if an oan buys a house with all his funds before marriage then that house is his given that he doesn't change the title deeds because of the love & whatnot.

Think of it this way: how a prenup works in the United States of America and numerous other countries is literary vice versa of how a prenup works in the Republic of Zimbabwe.

I hope that makes sense. Otherwise, we might be here forever.

Okay y'all, besides the case of Zimbabwe, do prenups send a bad message that you don't think a relationship is gonna last?

You gotta protect yourself at all cost, people wake up and do a complete 360!

We see it all the time when some celebs go through divorces and have no antenuptial agreement! You can have all the trust in the world and someone will still do u grimey!

A prenuptial agreement sends a bad message. I mean why should anyone think of getting married to someone whom they don't even trust?

I concur people change -- someone can love you today and not feel the same way about you the following day.

In that context, if a person loves you and never plans on leaving, then a prenup shouldn’t bother them.

Think of the same reason you pay for insurance even if you’re healthy. It’s just a future precaution, a security blanket.

Why get insurance if you’re a good driver? Same principle ha?

Wait, what? Anyways...

When you drive a car, you’re hoping to get to your final destination with no hiccups.

But things happen and when they do, you’re gonna wish you had insurance instead of relying on 'maturity' and 'trust' of the person you married.

It’s like people want the person to be so perfect that it literally makes them lose logic. It’s possible to think with your heart and brain.

I think @Borrowdale Barron is trying to say people who are so quick to consider a prenup often are the ones who aren't a good partner either.
