The APC Media group from Akwa Ibom struck back against PDP claims about Senate President Godswill Akpabio. PDP accused Akpabio of starting trouble for former governor Udom Emmanuel, who faced EFCC questioning Tuesday because of fraud reports. The anti-corruption agency acted after receiving complaints from an organization named Network against Corruption and Trafficking about money problems during Emmanuel's time as governor. PDP spokesperson Debo Ologunagba released a statement blaming Akpabio for spreading these stories to hurt Emmanuel's reputation. He claimed Akpabio wanted to damage the PDP through attacks on the former governor. The APC Media Network completely rejected these accusations through their leader, Otuekong Iniobong John, who spoke out Saturday about the situation. John explained that Akpabio stays busy with important Senate work and would never waste time spreading gossip about Emmanuel's legal troubles. He pointed out that investigating financial crimes remains the basic job of EFCC, not something Akpabio arranged personally. The APC spokesperson challenged PDP to deny whether Emmanuel actually met with EFCC before making wild claims about who told people. He asked if anyone believed Akpabio somehow caused investigations into other former governors like Yahaya Bello and Ifeanyi Okowa. John called these accusations examples of how clueless and petty the PDP communications team acts. He warned people against making this issue about tribal politics, noting that even PDP leader Chief Ndueso Essien had already cleared Akpabio from any involvement. The APC statement firmly declared that Senate President Akpabio has zero interest in publicizing Emmanuel's EFCC situation. They described Akpabio as focused entirely on running the National Assembly instead of paying attention to minor matters. John blamed the Akwa Ibom state PDP government for creating these false statements against Akpabio. John mentioned that certain tribal instigators spread lies, claiming Akpabio filed complaints against former governor Emmanuel. He reminded everyone that respected PDP elder Chief Essien had already confirmed Akpabio had nothing to do with any petition. The APC Media Network condemned PDP attempts to trick the public and damage Akpabio's name, asking people to recognize these tactics as cheap tricks.
