Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman visited the Bangladesh Navy graduation ceremony at Chattogram Naval Academy this morning. He told everyone that the Navy has grown into a modern force that uses advanced technology to face today's challenges. The general served as the main speaker for the summer presidential parade event. He stressed that new officers must stay ready to defend their nation through honest work and strong discipline. The Army Chief wants these young people to make personal sacrifices for their country. General Waker-Uz-Zaman explained how the Navy keeps the sea borders safe from threats. The naval force also protects ocean resources and fights crimes that happen on water. He reminded the new cadets about their important jobs serving Bangladesh and its people. The general said they must work with complete dedication to do their duties well. He believes that following rules and caring about work helps soldiers become excellent at their jobs. The Army Chief rode through the ceremony area to check on eight groups of new officers who saluted him. After months of hard training, he gave special awards to those who did the best work. The graduation ceremony welcomed 52 fresh naval officers into service. This group had 44 midshipmen and eight officers who joined directly. Eight women and four officers from other countries joined the new group. Army, Navy, Air Force leaders attended along with government workers and families of the graduates.
