It is up to an artist to reach a conclusion of what these commissionable revenue streams are before signing a music management contract.

For example, if the percentage of commission is set at a standard rate of 15% this means the artist will have to disclose gross or net income from any of those particular revenue streams and pay their manager 15% on each and every commissionable item.

Most artists choose to settle for commissionable earnings to be deducted from net income rather than gross income since they would want to cover other expenses before the manager calculates his or her commission.
