ASA Savings women push for top leadership roles

Women working at ASA Savings and Loans want more chances to lead. During their International Women's Day event, female staff members told managers they feel passed over for big roles that usually go to men.

These women asked company leaders to put more females in key positions and value what they bring to important decisions. Some urged their female coworkers to build better skills and knowledge so they'll be ready when leadership jobs open up, either at ASA or elsewhere. They also asked bosses to notice and reward hard workers to keep everyone motivated.

Human Resources Manager Eunice Boadu answered these concerns with good news. She said ASA had already started programs to help women advance their careers. Out of 1,300 total employees, the company has 600 loan officers split exactly between 300 men and 300 women. Since 99% of their 300,000 customers are women, ASA created special diversity and inclusion plans to prepare female staff for higher positions.

Boadu explained how ASA helps working mothers through maternity leave benefits. Women returning from leave can pick departments offering flexible schedules. Nursing mothers receive extra time to care for their babies without work pressure. CEO Mohammed Aourongjeb backed these efforts, promising the company wants women to show their talents. He stressed that ASA doesn't allow discrimination and will give qualified women leadership roles based on merit. The company celebrated International Women's Day with a cake-cutting ceremony showing their support for gender equality.
