[QUOTE="Nehanda, post: 28081, member: 2262"] The Edward Francis Small Centre for Rights and Justice (EFSCRJ) is happy with the attorney general's choice to look into how Bora Colley died. They saw the Gambia Armed Forces post about it on their Facebook page on March 10. Bora Colley used to be in the military and was part of former dictator Yaya Jammeh's notorious Jungler death squad. He passed away on March 9, 2025. The EFSCRJ thinks it's a good move for the attorney general to ask for a coroner's inquest based on Section 11 of the Coroner's Act. They want the full report from the inquiry to be available for everyone to see. They plan to keep an eye on how the inquiry goes. The Gambia Armed Forces have held Bora Colley since August 9, 2024. He was caught at his house in the Greater Banjul Area after sneaking back into the country from Equatorial Guinea. He'd been hiding out there with the former dictator since January 2017. The GAF said in their press release that Bora was getting medical care the whole time he was locked up until he died. The GAF said they arrested Bora Colley in August 2024 because he deserted and was named in the TRRC findings. A couple of days after his arrest, Lieutenant General Mamat Cham said at the Government's Mansa Kunda press conference that they nabbed Bora in accordance with "national laws and military law" because he was a deserter.
