Message:
Ayo Makun has apologized after fans in Cardiff paid to see his comedy show but left without a performance. The Nigerian comedian, known as AY, faced complaints after his AY Live: Single and Not Searching tour hit trouble at Valegate Retail Park in Wales. Fans had a rough experience at the venue. Some said they spent hours hoping the act would start, only for the wait to drag on. Arguments broke out, confusion spread, and police later arrived. Many people went home with no show to watch. But AY has given his side. He says he and the other comics did travel to Cardiff and reached the venue. The real issue, per his account, was a dispute over money that had not been paid as agreed. By the point that issue was dealt with, much of the crowd had gone. AY said he was sorry for the poor experience and felt fans deserved better care for the cash and effort they had put into attending. He also faulted the lack of clear updates. Paying guests should not have had to deal with a money row behind the scenes, he said. His message made clear that he felt the way the event was run had let people down. For anyone who wants more detail, AY says he has posted a video with his full account. He has asked people to hear his version before they make up their minds about what went wrong. Refunds are still a key issue. The comedian wants event organizers and his UK tour team to explain how they plan to help affected fans. He says any firm news about refunds or other fixes will appear on his verified social media pages. And the rest of the tour remains on the calendar. Shows in Birmingham, London, and Manchester are still set to go ahead, despite the trouble in Cardiff. AY also spoke about the bond he has built with fans across more than 20 years in show business. He said their trust matters to him and that he plans to respect the support that has kept his career going.
