[QUOTE="Munyaradzi Mafaro, post: 49103, member: 636"] Bangladesh's top diplomat wants to build stronger ties with Nepal. Foreign Secretary Asad Alam Siam met with Nepal's ambassador recently at the foreign ministry. The two countries already enjoy great friendship but can do much more together. Siam told the Nepali envoy that Dhaka would love to host the next round of talks between both nations. Ambassador Ghanshyam Bhandari visited the foreign secretary to discuss future cooperation. The ambassador praised Siam for taking on his new job as foreign secretary. Both men talked about boosting trade between their countries and helping more people travel back and forth. They discussed building power plants that could benefit both Bangladesh and Nepal. The two officials agreed that tourism and education exchanges should grow stronger. Business partnerships could create jobs and wealth for citizens on both sides. Energy projects grabbed most of their attention during the private meeting. Nepal has lots of water that could generate electricity for Bangladesh. The ambassador stressed that economic ties between the nations need to expand rapidly. Both countries want to work closer together at regional meetings and United Nations events. Trade volumes have grown steadily but still have room for major improvement. Regional groups like SAARC and BIMSTEC offer chances for deeper cooperation. The foreign secretary promised to welcome his Nepali counterpart for formal consultations in Dhaka later this year. Both diplomats expressed happiness about the current state of relations between their governments. Student exchanges and cultural programs could bring young people from both countries closer together. Business leaders from Bangladesh and Nepal should meet more often to explore new partnerships.
