Ugandan music star Moses Ssali has spoken about his broken friendship with Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu. Ssali goes by the stage name Bebe Cool and Kyagulanyi performs as Bobi Wine. The two artists have not gotten along for many years. Ssali says the problems started during his marriage troubles. He explains that personal betrayal caused their relationship to end. Ssali asked for help when his wife Zuena Kirema moved back to her family home. He reached out to Barbie Kyagulanyi because she was friends with his wife. Ssali hoped Barbie would talk to Zuena and help fix their marriage. Barbie told her husband Bobi Wine about the request. Wine responded with harsh words instead of offering support. The situation hurt Ssali because he had helped Wine before. Ssali says Wine's wife used to come to his house during her marriage problems. He would give her advice and help her return to Wine. Ssali expected the same kindness when he needed help. Wine chose to attack him instead of showing friendship. Both men became famous in Uganda's music scene during the early 2000s. They performed ragga and dancehall music alongside Jose Chameleone. People called them the big three of Ugandan music. Their competition created excitement among fans but also built real tension between them. The rivalry grew stronger when Wine entered politics and began criticizing President Yoweri Museveni. Ssali supports the ruling party and stays loyal to the government. Many people thought their disagreement was about politics. Ssali's new explanation shows their conflict has deeper personal roots that go back many years.
