Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur held its first awards ceremony for top students. The school gave out Dean's Awards and Merit Awards to students who earned excellent grades. Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali handed out the honors at Academic Building-2. Students received certificates, money and special gifts for their hard work. The ceremony celebrated academic success from the 2019-2020 school year. Dean Professor Dr Shafiqur Rahman led the event with help from other faculty leaders. Five deans from different schools attended the special ceremony. Department heads and university officials joined the celebration. The registrar and proctor also came to support the winning students. All the leaders praised the students for their outstanding academic performance. Four students received the Dean's Award for earning the highest grades among all faculties. Seventeen students won Merit Awards for achieving top scores within their departments. The awards recognize exceptional academic achievement across six different schools. Students came from arts, social sciences, engineering, life sciences and other areas of study. The university wanted to honor these bright students for their dedication. The ceremony also featured scholarship presentations for female students. Four women received money from the K Mushtaq and Hasna Elahi Foundation. These scholarships help students pay for their education costs. The foundation supports women studying social sciences at the university. The vice-chancellor presented the scholarship checks during the same event. University leaders said the awards motivate students to work harder. The certificates represent years of serious study and commitment. Students can use these honors to advance their careers after graduation. The university hopes these awards inspire other students to excel academically.
