Tshabangu helped Mwaruwari move from Chegutu to bigger teams. Mwaruwari later won a big cup in England, becoming only the second Zimbabwean to do that.

"We lost a great man," said Mwaruwari. "He did so much good for Bulawayo."

The tournament in 1997 changed Mwaruwari's life. It helped many other players, too.

Tshabangu's body will go from South Africa to Bulawayo. He will be buried on Sunday. His family is thankful for all the support.

Tshabangu was a soccer star himself. He played for several teams. He leaves behind his wife and four children.
