Dr. Kizza Besigye's friends, who help him with the law, are worried about him. They visited him in Luzira prison and saw he wasn't feeling well at all. Mr. Erias Lukwago, who helps people fight for their rights, said Besigye needs special medical care he can't receive in prison. Besigye has stayed in his prison cell since Friday because he feels sick. His blood pressure keeps going up, and the doctors at the prison can't help him much. They don't have the right tools to check what's making him ill. The prison won't let Besigye see his doctor, who knows his health better. The police put Besigye and his friend Hajj Obeid in prison because they thought they had guns they weren't supposed to have. The police caught them in Nairobi and said they wanted to cause trouble in Uganda. Besigye faces another problem because he led people to speak up against high prices in 2022. Besigye won't eat any food because he thinks the government should let him out of jail. The biggest court in Uganda said people who aren't soldiers shouldn't be tried in army courts. This means Besigye shouldn't be in prison anymore, but the government keeps him there. Mr. Lukwago says nobody ordered Besigye to stay in prison, but he remains locked up. The lawyers asked another court to make the government explain why they kept Besigye in prison. Mr. Norbert Mao, an important government official, told other leaders that the big court didn't say they must free Besigye. He said they needed time to move Besigye's case to a different court. Mr. Lukwago feels very scared for his friend. He thinks Besigye might become very sick if he stays in prison. The prison keeps Besigye alone in his cell, and he hasn't come out since Friday. The lawyers want the prison to take Besigye to a better hospital where doctors can help him properly.
