The Bakau Islamic Development Foundation handed out food to many families who needed help in Bakau during Ramadan. These families received rice, sugar, cooking oil, and other basic items they required. This caring action fits with how BIDF keeps helping vulnerable groups around its area. The foundation strongly believes in supporting social welfare. Nuha Touray is the president of the foundation. He discussed why giving matters, especially during the holy month when kind acts mean even more to Muslims. "Ramadan makes us think about others, feel compassion, and share what we have. We ask all wealthy people and businesses to embrace giving. Having money matters less than wanting to help those with less," Touray explained. He mentioned that when everyone pitches in, communities across the country face less hunger and poverty. Many people who received help expressed their thankfulness. The group included widows, older adults, and families living on very little money. One woman raising five children expressed how perfectly timed the help was. She had been finding it hard to feed her family. "This package means everything to my family. We have enough food to break our fast," she said happily. BIDF has worked on many helpful projects over the years. They support education for children from poor families and provide health assistance where needed. As Ramadan continues, they promise to help more families facing hardship. They hope additional people and groups will join them in building unity, compassion, and responsibility toward others. The day ended with awards for two dedicated members. The organizers said these helpful activities would keep going, hopefully reaching more people each year.
