Muzafaru had planned to bomb a police funeral that same year.

Katushabe was daughter to Abdul Shaqur who bombed Central Police Station during 2021 attacks. Intelligence officers learned about the church attack plan two days before it happened. They arrested another suspect who gave them important details about the bombing plot. Army forces used that information to stop Katushabe before she reached the church. The arrested suspect remains locked up for more questioning.
