Mapinga also appears Wednesday on separate rape charges from an earlier case. He remains locked up at Harare Central Prison until both court cases finish. His defense attorney needs more time to gather evidence and witness statements. The state prosecutor expects written arguments from both legal teams before Friday's trial. Magistrate Sandra Mupindu will handle the rape case proceedings.
