Police officer Inspector Abednico Ncube says the couple fooled 18 people from January to July last year. The police caught them after one person, Alison Unami, told them about the scam. They first caught Gwendoline on May 3. When Melusi came to see her at the police station the next day, they caught him, too.

The court let them go free for a while. They had to check in with the police three times every week. But they played another trick. They gave a fake address in Gwanda instead of their natural home in Bulawayo. Then they ran away.

Now the police want help finding them. They broke the rules of their freedom, so the court wants them back. The police ask anyone who knows where they are to speak up.
