Uganda Cranes lost 3-0 to Cameroon during Friday's friendly match at Stadium de Marrakech Annexe Pitch. The Indomitable Lions controlled most of the game and scored three solid goals. Flavien Enzo Boyomo, Jean Florent Batoum, and Patrick Soko each found the back of the net. Uganda goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi made several important saves but could not stop all three goals. The defeat was complete as Uganda failed to score any goals against their opponents. Cameroon took the lead after 34 minutes when Boyomo headed home from a free kick. Uganda created some good chances through Rogers Mato and Kenneth Ssemakula but goalkeeper Simon Omossola stopped both attempts. The first half ended with Cameroon ahead 1-0 after dominating possession. Alionzi kept Uganda close with a crucial save before halftime. The score remained tight until the second half began. Batoum doubled Cameroon's lead just three minutes after the break when he headed home from a corner kick. Alionzi misjudged the ball's flight and could not prevent the second goal. Patrick Soko added the third goal during the 69th minute with a calm finish inside the penalty area. The result was decided after Soko's goal put Cameroon firmly ahead. Uganda could not mount a comeback despite bringing fresh players off the bench. Elvis Bwomono played center defense instead of his usual right-back position and performed well throughout the match. Patrick Jonah Kakande replaced Mato early during the second half and brought energy to Uganda's attack. The substitution helped Uganda create more chances but they still could not score. Coach Paul Put's team will face Gambia during their next friendly match on Monday. The game against Gambia gives Uganda another chance to improve before important competitions.
