Another grim reminder about street booze just dropped. Cops in Manicaland are investigating a death linked to heavy drinking. A guy from Greenside, Alfred Dzikiti, was found dead at Munowenyu Business Centre in Sakubva. Police Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka said Dzikiti had been planning to visit someone in Mundembe but was seen drinking cane spirit instead.

That potent street alcohol, often called kozodo or mutoriro, apparently hit him hard. He was later spotted lying in a trench. An elderly local from Mazhambe, Gariremwo Masimira, found the body and alerted the ZRP Sakubva station. Officers responding to the scene noticed marks on the back of the deceased.

The body was moved to Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital for a postmortem. Authorities are working to confirm the exact cause of death. Chinyoka warned people against overdoing it with alcohol, especially unregulated brews that carry major health risks. The investigation remains open.
