Police arrested a 21-year-old from Kandava Village for stealing funeral money. Cuthbert Munyaradzi Masimwa faces charges after allegedly taking $22,385 from his employer. He worked under Chief Seke but appeared before Harare magistrate Isheunesu Matova, who allowed him out on $300 bail.

Prosecutor Rufaro Chonzi explained that Masimwa started working as a cashier between May 2023 and September 27, 2024. His job included taking payments from customers through cash, EcoCash, card swipes, and mobile platforms.
Masimwa allegedly ran his theft scheme from April through August 2024. He changed payment numbers and reported less money than customers actually paid for funeral policies. His tricks fell apart when client Willington Jeremiah Matsika visited the office on August 24 to check his policy information. Staff noticed problems with his records and started looking deeper.
