A local leader named Habib Ceesay spoke up yesterday about some claims made against him. Someone named Salama Njie had said Ceesay fought with Mayor Bensouda about hiring new people at their office. Ceesay said this wasn't true.
Ceesay came to a special meeting to tell everyone what really happened. He talked about how Mayor Bensouda picked people for different jobs, like Isatou Faal and Nuru Deen Adams. He explained that he voted against making Faal a manager because he thought she might not have the right skills. But other people voted yes, and she became the manager anyway.
When Patrick Gomez asked Ceesay if he was unhappy about things at the office, Ceesay said yes. But he made clear he never fought with the mayor. He just wanted to remind Mayor Bensouda about the right way to hire people.
