Lawmaker Fatou Cham from Sannehmentereng blasted President Barrow after his big speech to the country. She said his talk missed the real problems that hurt women and young people every day. Cham thinks the government just makes empty promises that never help anyone. She wants leaders to stop talking and start doing something that actually works. The politician believes people deserve much better from their government. Cham laughed at the Women Enterprise Fund because it only gives women 1,000 dalasis to start businesses. She said nobody can build anything real with such tiny amounts of money. The fund fails because the government sets people up to fail from the start. Women get used for votes and forgotten right after elections end. Cham wants the government to give women serious money that can change their lives. The president keeps saying he will create 150,000 jobs for young people across the country. Cham pointed out that nobody has seen any proof these jobs actually exist. Young Gambians still crowd immigration offices trying to leave the country for work elsewhere. Many who go abroad through government programs earn just 200 dollars per month for hard labor. Cham found it funny that the lights kept going out during the president's speech about electricity progress. She said the power cuts proved that the government has not fixed the energy problems. Women farmers around her area still cannot protect their gardens from animals because they lack basic fences. Cham urged the government to stop making promises and start delivering real results that help ordinary people.
