Wafula Chebukati lived his entire life with real purpose and bravery, according to his three children. They shared heartfelt memories that showed how much their dad meant to them during recent services. His daughter Rachel Nekesa talked about her father breaking records and standing firm for truth regardless of what others thought. She believed he found the perfect balance between hard work and taking time to enjoy his life fully. Rachel remembered how her dad helped her prepare for school tests by teaching her to visualize success beforehand. This approach taught Rachel powerful positive thinking skills she still uses today. Her father pushed her toward excellence and backed it up by sending his kids to top schools. He genuinely cared about her daily experiences, never accepting simple answers like just saying things were fine. He wanted to hear every detail about her day, even as she grew older. During busy election periods, Rachel called him multiple times daily to check on him. He always answered unless he was speaking at press conferences, and then she would watch him on television instead. Rachel deeply misses their conversations, his physical presence, and especially his sense of humor. They often discussed complex topics like law, politics and international affairs together. Her father constantly sought knowledge through books, articles, and additional courses throughout his life. Some of her favorite childhood memories involve golfing with him. They frequently took risky shots on the course because he taught her to believe in herself completely. Even when they missed, they stayed confident they could recover because giving up was never something he allowed. Jonathan Chebukati considered his dad a true role model who showed unshakeable integrity. He has countless happy memories that time cannot erase. His father introduced him to golf at age ten, sparking a lifelong passion. Years later, when Jonathan earned his professional golf handicap, his dad beamed with pride. Both parents enrolled him in the Junior Golf Foundation to improve his skills through tournaments across the country. Jonathan admits writing about his father feels emotionally overwhelming but finds daily comfort through faith. Emmanuel, another son, learned responsibility early when his father trusted him to manage staff payments at their Nyali home. He prepared budgets for approval, handed out money, and made sure everyone signed when receiving their wages. These lessons proved valuable later in his professional career. During their last day together, Emmanuel gave his father, a Spanish bullfighting hat from his trip to Bilbao. Though expensive, something urged him to purchase it despite already having another gift. His father immediately brightened when trying it on, joking that nobody could mess with him wearing his bullfighting hat. Emmanuel described his dad as resilient and full of conviction. During his final days, family members gathered resources for his care and stayed beside him constantly. Friends and political figures joined the family for a memorial service held at Citam Karen church. Emmanuel promises to safeguard the special hat as a symbol of his father's wisdom, quiet dignity, and the path he showed his children to follow.
