Girls from around Bangladesh packed the Asian University for Women campus last week for a special science program. Chevron oil company paid for 101 young women to attend the Math and Science Summer School 2025. The students will spend a month learning about computers, chemistry, physics and health topics. Teachers from different countries came to help run the classes at the Chattogram campus. Government official Dr. Nurun Nahar Chowdhury spoke at the opening ceremony about how science education helps the country grow. She told the girls that learning math and science gives them power to change their lives. The university choir sang the national anthem before the speeches started. Dr. Rubana Huq runs the school and talked about helping women across Asia learn new skills. Chevron has supported this summer program since 2019 when it first began. Company workers Zahir Uddin Mohammed Babur Khan and A K M Arif Akter promised to keep helping young women study science subjects. They believe teaching girls about technology and engineering builds stronger communities. Two former students came back to share stories about how the program changed their futures. The month-long courses cover math, physics, chemistry, computer programming and public health topics. College principals and teachers from different schools attended the launch event. Dr. Mohiuddin Ahsanul Kabir Chowdhury directs the summer school and introduced all the teaching staff. The program aims to inspire more women to work in science and technology fields after graduation.
