China just handed over fancy martial arts gear to Myanmar's sports ministry at a big ceremony yesterday morning. The event took place at the Institute of Sports and Physical Education near Yangon's Kyaikkasan Sports Grounds. Top officials from both countries showed up to make the handover official. Union Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung grabbed the donated Wushu equipment from Chinese Ambassador Ms Ma Jia. The minister gave her a thank-you certificate right back. Ambassador Ma Jia talked about why China wanted to help Myanmar's athletes succeed. Minister Jeng Phang Naw Taung praised China for helping Myanmar win medals at major competitions like the Asian Games and Southeast Asian Games. China has been sending coaches and training programs to boost Myanmar's Wushu teams for years. The two countries plan to work together on sports development through 2027. They discussed using future budgets to help Myanmar athletes compete better at regional tournaments. The minister checked out Teqball players training for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games later that day. Young athletes showed off their skills and got advice about improving their performance. The afternoon brought another sports event as the minister opened the U18 Track and Field Championships at Padetha Stadium. Teenage runners and jumpers promised to compete fairly during their four-point sportsmanship oath. The ceremony ended with exciting relay races that got everyone cheering.
