China hit back at America with a huge 34% tax on all US goods starting next Thursday. They answered President Trump's similar tax on Chinese products with their biggest punch yet. Trump already put smaller 10% taxes on Chinese stuff twice during February and March because he blamed them for fentanyl problems. The stock market crashed Friday when China announced several counter-attacks. They blocked rare earth minerals needed for tech products, sued America at the World Trade Organization, stopped buying farm products from certain US companies, restricted dozens of American businesses, and launched an investigation into an American chemical company. Trump posted online that China made mistakes and panicked. But he still showed interest in the TikTok talks despite all the fighting. He gave TikTok extra time to separate from its Chinese parent company. Trump wrote that he hopes to keep working with China even though they dislike his "Reciprocal Tariffs." Experts say China showed much less patience this time compared to earlier trade battles. One expert called it pulling out a sword instead of using careful cuts. Another warned that neither country could back down easily without looking weak. Each day makes peaceful solutions harder to find. Beijing plans to limit exports of special minerals used for making computer chips, electric car batteries, aerospace parts, and medical machines. Chinese officials blocked chicken from two American companies after finding banned drugs. They discovered mold in grain shipments and dangerous bacteria in animal feed from four other US businesses. The government banned sixteen US companies from trading items that might have military uses. They blacklisted eleven more American firms, including drone makers, stopping all their business with China. Chinese leaders called Trump's actions "typical unilateral bullying" that hurts global trade rules. When Trump first added 10% taxes, China responded more gently. In February, they taxed American coal and natural gas at 15%. Later, they added similar taxes on US farm goods like chicken, pork, and beef. Back then, experts thought China stayed calm to keep talk options open. The fight keeps growing worse, with many companies facing restrictions on both sides. Despite all these trade problems, military officials from both countries still managed to meet recently. They talked in Shanghai about preventing accidents between their navies and keeping things safe at sea.
