The Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe threw a party Thursday celebrating 40 years of Chinese doctors working in Zimbabwe. During this event, they said goodbye to the 21st medical team and gave them medals for their hard work. They also welcomed the 22nd team of doctors arriving from China. Zimbabwe's Deputy Health Minister Sleiman Kwidini talked about how China and Zimbabwe working together on healthcare shows what countries can do when they respect each other. He mentioned these medical teams helping people in far-away places where healthcare is hard to find. The Chinese doctors healed sick people and strengthened the friendship between both countries. Kwidini believed future generations would benefit from what these teams accomplished. He praised them for showing compassion and teamwork. Cheng Yan from the Chinese Embassy also spoke at the party. He said this 40-year mark proves the lasting friendship between China and Zimbabwe continues strong through these medical missions. Cheng explained that Chinese doctors come not just to treat illness but to build friendships between people from both nations. He mentioned that China invites Zimbabwean hospital staff to visit—more than 60 medical workers and officials will travel to China this year. The 21st Chinese medical team treated over 14,000 patients during their stay, trained more than 1,000 local healthcare workers, and built important health facilities.
