China promises to finish loan agreements made during President Ruto's trip to Beijing. Chinese Special Envoy Xue Bing told reporters that banks from both countries stay connected and work toward completing deals. The envoy spoke at a peace conference about Horn of Africa development. Financial groups from China and Kenya keep talking to reach final agreements. Both sides want results that help everyone. Foreign Affairs Minister Musalia Mudavadi met his Chinese partner Wang Yi on June 10. Mudavadi thanked China for continued support and pushed for quick loan completion. He wants all financial talks done before June 2025 ends. The meeting happened during a special Africa-China cooperation gathering. Leaders discussed trade and money partnerships between the countries. President Ruto brought home funding promises for major building projects. China agreed to pay for railway extensions from Naivasha to Malaba. Highway improvements will connect Nairobi to Nakuru and reach Malaba border. The plan covers bypass roads around Kiambu and Eldoret areas. Workers will also build Nithi Bridge as part of the package. Ruto announced that Rironi-Nakuru road building starts in August. He told Nakuru leaders at State House that design work was almost finished. Contractors must complete the project before 2027 elections arrive. The President wants substantial progress made within that timeframe. Construction teams will speed up work to meet deadlines. Kenya faces money problems as debt payments eat up most government income. The country spends 1.9 trillion shillings paying back loans each year. Debt costs take 57 percent of all revenue collected. Ruto's government must borrow more money to fund development projects.
