[QUOTE="Nehanda, post: 29749, member: 2262"] Armed robbers hit a farm in Marondera where businessman Wicknell Chivayo's wife grew up. Twenty men with guns and weapons stole $74,100 cash plus phones and other stuff. Police caught three guys from Hopley who might have done it. A cop named Constable Mukuva ran away because he helped plan the robbery. The gang broke into Alpha Omega Farm on March 18 around 1 AM. They had rifles, pistols, bolt-cutters, machetes, and metal bars. First, they grabbed the guards, tied them up, and took their guns. Then they cut through screens and forced doors open to reach the main house. They hurt family members and demanded money. When the robbers confronted Lucy Muteke's brother, Gerald, he handed over $18,000, his gun, and two Samsung phones. Vimbai Muteke gave them $1,100, her phone, and keys to a safe. The robbers then found $55,000 more inside that safe. Gunshots made neighbors call the police, and Chivayo's father-in-law sent an emergency message to nearby farmers. Some farmers came to help but quickly left when they saw how many armed men were there. Someone spotted a large white truck near the property. The stolen cash came from money Chivayo had recently paid as bride price for his wife, Lulu Muteke. He claims he gave about $20,000 but sent $75,000 total for wedding preparations. Chivayo has strong connections to President Emmerson Mnangagwa and makes lots of money from government contracts. He posted on social media offering a $100,000 reward cash for anyone who helps catch these criminals. He wants information about who did it, where they live, or any details that lead to arrests. He promised no questions and asked for helpful tips. Police detectives arrested three suspects on Thursday. These men will face a judge on Saturday. Separately, police are hunting for Luke Zinyengere, an armed robbery suspect who escaped from the Harare Magistrates Court on Friday. He somehow smuggled a gun into court, shot at prison officers, then hijacked a car to escape. Another prisoner named Tafadzwa Marondera tried to run, but guards caught him jumping over a fence.
