Chris Brown told a London court Friday he did not commit assault charges against him. The R&B singer faces accusations of attacking music producer Abraham Diaw with a tequila bottle at Tape nightclub back in February 2023. Police arrested Brown in May and charged him with trying to cause serious harm and assault that led to actual injuries. He spent almost a week locked up before getting released on bail worth $6.7 million.

Another defendant named Omololu Akinlolu also said he was not guilty Friday at Southwark Crown Court. Akinlolu performs music under the stage name HoodyBaby and faces charges of attempted serious harm connected to the same incident. The judge moved the case forward to July with a full trial planned for October 2026.

Brown must stay in the United Kingdom until his trial ends because of his bail terms. Police took away his passport but he can travel for concerts and shows. The Grammy winner is doing his Breezy Bowl XX world tour right around the court dates.

Brown performed Sunday night in Manchester and talked to fans about his time behind bars. He said his jail experience was really nice and thanked the facility where he stayed. His next concert happens Saturday at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
