Christian youth group CCYF has spoken out against activist politician Omoyele Sowore for insulting respected religious figures. The group released a statement Monday saying Sowore's comments toward Christian leaders were harmful and inappropriate. They believe his words could spark religious conflict and harm community peace. CCYF leader Adama Paul James signed the statement calling Sowore's actions unacceptable. The group strongly feels that describing faith leaders as failures, uneducated, or jobless misrepresents their significant contributions. They warned Sowore that they would respond firmly if he continued attacking Christianity and its leadership. The youth forum demanded respect for church figures who they consider both spiritual guides and intellectual achievers. They pointed out many pastors hold impressive academic credentials and have earned worldwide respect. The statement specifically mentioned Bishop Francis Wale Oke, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, Bishop David Oyedepo, and numerous others as examples of accomplished leaders. CCYF described Sowore as seeking attention through baseless attacks. They stated his comments come from ignorance and hatred rather than facts. The group believes his behavior shows poor character and questions how anyone could call math professors or first-class graduates "uneducated." The Christian youth organization promised strong action against future religious attacks. They asked the Nigerian government to recognize how Sowore's behavior might affect national security. CCYF emphasized they stand firmly with their religious leaders and will defend them against further disrespect.
