Microsoft has started bringing its Copilot+ features to more computers beyond just Snapdragon X devices. The company recently added these AI assistant tools to laptops running Intel and AMD chips. They also announced a new feature called Voice Access that will first work on Qualcomm Snapdragon systems before coming to Intel and AMD computers later. These changes came in the March 27 Preview update (KB505365). The privacy-troubled Recall feature remains missing from Intel and AMD plans.
The Windows Experience Blog tells us that people who use AMD and Intel computers can finally access several AI tools. These include Live Captions, Cocreator, Restyle Image, and Image Creator. These features work on machines with Intel Core Ultra 200V and AMD Ryzen AI 300 processors. Live Captions helps with accessibility needs. Restyle Image and Image Creator let you edit and make pictures with AI help. Cocreator sits somewhere between these as a tool that turns text into images when drawing in Paint.
The cocreator has already started rolling out to users. The Photos app on Intel and AMD systems will soon offer both Restyle Image and Image Creator functions. Microsoft describes Voice Access as a more natural way to control your computer by talking to it. Users can speak more freely instead of learning exact commands that older voice systems needed. Voice Access will only work on Snapdragon X computers at first but will expand to AMD and Intel Copilot+ machines later this year.
