Combat feels like classic Resident Evil and Dead Space games. Dark Souls games helped make fights harder and more punishing. Movies like 12 Monkeys and The Thing gave ideas for the spooky setting. The TV show Dark also inspired the story about time travel. Unreal Engine 5 powers the graphics and the computer requirements seem reasonable for most gaming PCs.
