Zimbabwe escaped the impacts of Cyclone Jude completely. The storm hit northern Mozambique instead, with powerful winds reaching 120km per hour and tons of rain. Mozambique had already dealt with two other cyclones this year before Jude arrived. Chisengu and Hwange were both soaked with 48 mm of rain during these storms. Chipinge received 26 mm, according to measurements taken there. Both Mukandi and Nyanga recorded exactly 20 mm when the rain stopped. Scientists have noticed natural disasters happening more often these days because of climate change's effects. Cyclones and droughts are increasing compared to past decades.
