Zimbabwe's Justice Minister says the government is ready to change the constitution. The changes would let President Mnangagwa stay in power past 2028.

President Mnangagwa has said he plans to step down when the current constitution requires him to, but his supporters want him to stay longer.

The main opposition party, Citizens Coalition for Change, also supports the idea. The opposition leader in parliament visited the president's farm and said, "If we approve your stay in power and the people are happy, let it be."

The opposition leader said President Mnangagwa leads by example. He called for unity, saying, "We are Zimbabweans. We should be singing together, playing together, celebrating together."

Zanu PF groups across Zimbabwe have shown support for extending the president's term. They say he has gotten real results that people appreciate.
