[QUOTE="Nehanda, post: 21887, member: 2262"] Folks won't believe what's cooking in Bulawayo! Deputy Mayor Edwin Ndlovu is sitting in jail, and boy, is he mad about it! He says the whole thing smells fishy. The cops nabbed him and his buddy, Councillor Mpumelelo Moyo, saying they tried to squeeze $20,000 from some Chinese business folks who wanted to build a cement factory. [HEADING=2]The Crazy Arrest Story[/HEADING] Get this - Ndlovu says he was just being a good friend when he got caught up in this mess. The town clerk rang him up about his pal Moyo being in hot water. Like any decent person would do, he rushed to the police station to check on his friend. But surprise, surprise - the anti-corruption cops slapped the cuffs on him too! They didn't even tell him why! [HEADING=2]The Plot Thickens[/HEADING] Here's where it gets juicy - Ndlovu swears he's never even met this Tsitsi Mapfumo person who's pointing fingers at him. She works for the Chinese company, Labenmon Investments. Ndlovu says the whole land deal for the cement factory was totally by the book. He even cheered it on in public! [HEADING=2]The Mystery Deepens[/HEADING] Word on the street is that 20 council members might be mixed up in this mess. But guess what? Only our two guys are cooling their heels in jail! The cops say they caught them red-handed with trap money, but Ndlovu says that's nonsense. He's never been to Mapfumo's place and knows nothing about any trap. [HEADING=2]The Fight for Freedom[/HEADING] Ndlovu wants out on bail. He's telling everyone who'll listen that he's a clean businessman with no criminal past. The cement factory was supposed to go up near Cowdray Park, and both guys behind bars are from the opposition party that runs things in Bulawayo. Talk about a political pickle! [/QUOTE]
