Some new Zimdaansaal artists have received constructive criticism for writing songs fueled with lyrics containing the use of recreational drugs and how this has a negative impact on ghetto youths who look up to them.

Y'all think it's fair how most of the criticism about recreational drugs is waged on Zimdancehall and less likely on Zim Hip Hop music where you have got many recording artists who do the same thing here and there?

It's well-known there are a couple of popular Zimdaansaal chanters who can't even perform live without not being under the influence of either mbanje, mangemba, mutoriro, or whatever they are tweaking on these days.

There are certain Zimdancehall artists that need help for sure and I am talking about serious drug rehabilitation programs.

Everyone always wants to act high and mighty, but addiction can get anyone.

How do you get addicted to recreational drugs without taking them, on such a regular basis that leads to an addiction problem? Addiction is a disease that stems from many bad choices, despite the knowledge of the dangers. Maybe certain Zimbabwean artists should be taught not to play victim to the circumstances they create.

It's not just Zim artists who are the only ones that deal with addiction. This also includes some Zim celebs who should consider rehab.

However, Zimbabwe's poverty due to the troubled economy is probably the biggest contributing factor why ghetto youths do drugs because of having nothing productive to do all day.

I understand what you are saying about Zimbabwe's situation but nevertheless drugs are bad — people's family members, loved ones and communities are affected by people who sell drugs.

They prey on people’s suffering. It’s nothing worse than seeing some guy getting rich off of someone else’s demise.
