The dogs bit Machara on his neck, hands, legs and stomach before he died from his wounds. Witnesses saw one white pit bull covered with blood stains after the deadly attack. Police arrested Mapinga for negligent behavior that caused his neighbor's death.

Court officials found Mapinga might have an outstanding rape warrant against his former housemaid. Magistrate Sandra Mupindu will conduct a default inquiry about the rape case on June 9. Prosecutors review his criminal records to determine additional charges he could face. The dog owner remains behind bars until his next court appearance. All four dangerous animals were identified by people who witnessed the fatal attack.
